Counselling & Psychotherapy

What is the difference between counselling and psychotherapy?

Counselling and psychotherapy are both forms of talking therapy which share many similarities.  I see counselling as typically shorter term and focused on specific goals.  Psychotherapy is often longer term work at a deeper level, exploring our ways of being in the world, and working with difficult past experiences.

How can therapy help?

Working with a qualified practitioner in a safe and confidential space can help us to:

  • Feel truly heard, accepted, and understood

  • Explore parts of ourselves too painful to reach before, or possibly not yet discovered within us

  • Nurture self compassion

  • Expand and evolve our way of being in the world.  What this looks like is unique to each individual.

Confidentiality & ethics

Therapy sessions are confidential apart from matters concerning safety and professional requirements.  I am in regular professional supervision where I discuss my work annonymously.  I adhere to the UKCP Code of Ethics and Professional Practice in all that I do (click here for more information on ethics).

Location & fees

I offer in person sessions in Tooting, London (SW17), and online via video call.  Sessions last for 50 minutes.

Fees are £75 per session.

I currently have a 3-6 month waiting list for new clients.  If you are interested in working together and would like to be added to this wait list do get in touch.
